Soraya is a development practitioner with 28 years’ experience in grantmaking, strategic planning, organisational development, and participatory community development across Southern and East Africa.
She is a PhD candidate in Women & Gender Studies and a qualified journalist, she has led institutions such as the WHEAT Trust and ARASA, driving women-led grantmaking, leadership development, and media advocacy. She is a committed advocate for human rights and the empowerment of women and girls.

Lira is a nonprofit leader with a passion for and expertise in programme development, GBV and trauma-informed care, training and mentorship, and monitoring and evaluation.
She has led initiatives that strengthen organisations and communities, bringing a focus on evidence-based practice, capacity building, and sustainable impact.
